Church of the Visitation hosted Iftar Dinner on 21 06 17


On 21st June, 2017 (Wednesday), the Church of the Visitation, Seremban hosted the Iftar dinner (majlis berbuka puasa) for its invited Muslim friends to break their fast. Held in a restaurant in Seremban, the invited guests were from the Seremban Police Contingent (IPK, Seremban) led by ACP Dr. Zafari Zulkifli, members from the Gabungan NGO Dakwah Islam Negeri Sembilan (GANDA) led by its Chairperson Prof. Dr. Badlishah Sham, Angkatan Skuad Mubaligh Malaysia led by its President, Muhammad Zamri Vinoth, the Assistant of Murshid, Naser Abdul Rahman and Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia, Negeri Sembilan (ABIM) represented by Ustaz Shamsul Azhar Yahya, who is also the Vice Chairperson of GANDA. From the Church of the Visitation led by Parish Priest Fr. George Harrison, in attendance were, Stephen Sta Maria (PPC chairperson), Christopher Krishnan and John Maynard (PCC chairperson and Assistant), from the Chinese Apostolate, KUBM, members from the Inter-Religious affairs and youths from the Parish Youth Council. Muhammad Zamri thanked the Church of The Visitation Church for hosting the event. He added that though we profess the faith and beliefs differently, we can still come together on matters concerning with humanity and live in harmony. He then introduced members from the Angkatan Skuad Mubaligh who were present. Also thanking the Church of the Visitation for hosting the event for the first time were Prof Dr. Badlishah and ASP Adnan Kosni respectively. In making reference to the visitation of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth, Fr. George briefly explained what happened when both the woman met. Noting that there are places of worship in the vicinity, he added that its parishioners are encouraged to make efforts to establish communications and friendly contacts (bridge-building) with people of other faiths. The event concluded with a cake cutting and group photo. Fr. George on behalf of Church of the Visitation extended his best wishes for the coming of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
