On 18 April 2026, the Parish Ministry of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (PMEIA) of the Church of the Visitation Seremban led by Ms Anne Sumitra and PMEIA team mates successfully organised a meaningful and uplifting event themed “Easter Joy Brings Peace and Unity to Humanity.” The gathering reflected the spirit of Easter by fostering harmony, dialogue, and friendship among diverse faith communities. The event brought together distinguished guests and representatives from a wide spectrum of interfaith organisations including IKRAM, the Bahá’í community, Hindu Sangam, Agape Church, the Buddhist Association, Gurdwara Seremban, Malaysia Sikh Union, St Mark’s Church, the Methodist Church, Sri Balathandayuthapani Temple Seremban, Amazing Grace Church, as well as members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) and various ministry heads of the Church of the Visitation. Their presence highlighted a shared commitment to mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of YB Teoh Kok Seong, ‘Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Bertindak Perindustrian dan Hal Ehwal Bukan Islam merangkap ADUN Bahau’ who graced the gathering and affirmed the importance of interreligious harmony within the community. The programme began with an opening prayer led by Fr Albert Arokiasamy, Parish Priest of St John Marie Vianney, Tampin. His prayer set a reflective and reverent tone, invoking blessings of peace, unity, and understanding among all present. A key highlight of the event was a session by Fr Xavier Andrew, who presented the meaning of Easter. His sharing emphasised themes of hope, renewal, sacrifice, love and values that resonate universally across faith traditions and serve as a foundation for unity in diversity. Adding a lively and engaging dimension to the gathering, participants took part in interactive unity games designed to encourage teamwork, communication, and camaraderie. These activities created a joyful atmosphere and strengthened bonds among attendees from different religious backgrounds. The event concluded with a time of fellowship, where participants had the opportunity to interact, exchange perspectives, and deepen friendships. This informal engagement further reinforced the central message of the programme that peace and unity are attainable when people come together in sincerity and openness. Overall, “Easter Joy Brings Peace and Unity to Humanity” was a resounding success, serving as a testament to the power of dialogue and shared values in building bridges across communities.
